About Us

807 Management Services was founded in 2019 as a partnership between two experienced internal consultants who saw the need for high-quality, value-driven consulting services rooted in Northern and Rural communities.  With government funding increasingly coming to organizations in small, project-based allocations, we saw the increasing demand for contract and time-limited employment combined with a decreasing supply of resources.  This is particularly true in Northern and Rural communities, which can face intense challenges to recruit and retain qualified people, but also struggle to find the resources necessary to hire permanent people.

At 807 Management Services, our mission is to help small organizations do big things.  We see the rise of the “gig” economy as an opportunity to streamline organizations and provide the specialized resources required by small organizations at a scale they can manage.  We take the risk in hiring a pool of talent so that we are ready to respond flexibly to your needs.

Principal

Brent Maranzan

Brent Maranzan (HBBA, MPH, CPA, CA, PMP) is a seasoned management professional with a career that spans 17+ years, spent in health care administration and public accounting. He has an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master of Public Health Degree from Lakehead University. He has also earned Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and Project Management Professional (PMP) designations. Brent has extensive experience in leveraging technology to improve accounting controls and processes. He has taught the Information Technology Auditing course at Lakehead University in the past and is currently working on a certificate in Information Systems Management through Ryerson University. He is an expert in Microsoft Excel and adept at VBA programming. Brent has expertise in process auditing, health data and analytics, project management, capital planning, proposal development and evaluation.

Principal

Jen McIntosh

Jen McIntosh (HBC, CPA, CA) is a professional with a decade of accounting and tax compliance and advisory experience. She holds her Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lakehead University and earned her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation in 2014. Jen believes there is always more to learn and challenges herself to keep at it – whether she’s researching certain implications of the Canadian tax system or investigating new industries and technologies that might interest or provide value to her clients. She has a breadth of experience across small and medium private enterprises in the healthcare, forestry, real estate, and food services sectors in Northwestern Ontario. Dedicated to the community, Jen has served as a Board member for Thunder Bay Literacy Group – joining the Board in 2013 and serving as Chair for the past four years.

Nelson Sidorski

Nelson Sidorski (HBK, MPH, MBA, PMP) is a Project Management Professional and a healthcare leader with 11+ years of experience in the healthcare sector. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree, Master of Public Health degree and a Master of Business Administration degree. Nelson has experience working in government as well as working with hospitals and community health sector agencies across the region. Nelson developed and led a regional Project Management Office and has significant experience consulting with healthcare providers during his time at the North West Local Health Integration Network. Nelson also has significant governance experience as a volunteer Board member for Thunder Bay Counselling – having joined the Board in 2014 and serving as Chair of the Board the past three years. Nelson has expertise in a number of areas including: strategic planning; proposal writing and evaluation; project, program and change management implementation; community engagement; quality improvement processes; organizational governance; group facilitation; and negotiation.

Associate

Dr. Amanda Maranzan (Ph.D., C. Psych.)

Dr. Amanda Maranzan is a Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D., C. Psych.) and academic with 10+ years of experience in program evaluation and research, mostly with health organizations, non-profits and the public sector.

A practicing licensed clinical psychologist, she uses her clinical knowledge and experience to design program evaluations that are both clinically meaningful and that demonstrate program performance. In addition to evaluation, Amanda brings a strong research background and experience with both quantitative and qualitative data. Evaluation expertise: Quantitative research techniques; Qualitative research techniques; Survey design; Data analysis; Knowledge translation; Knowledge mobilization.
